It is with great pride and excitement that I write this letter of introduction to you as the new principal of Hamilton Elementary for the 2019-2020 school year. I am proud, honored and humbled to have the opportunity to serve such an amazing school community on the road to Destination Excellence.
I have been dedicated to the field of education for more than twenty-one years as a teacher, assistant principal, and principal in three different school districts. I started my career in Broken Arrow Public Schools as a 7th Grade Language Arts Teacher, 5th Grade Teacher and then assistant principal. In 2010, I joined Wagoner Public Schools for two years as principal at the 4th and 5th Center then one year as the middle school principal. My most recent administrative experience has been in Tulsa at Grimes Elementary, where I served as principal for the last six years.
Leaving one exceptional school and going to another is truly bittersweet, yet exciting. I am beyond eager to build new relationships, gain trust and develop strong partnerships with a new school family to ensure that our young leaders of Hamilton are ready and set to achieve the greatest successes in college, career and life. Along with student successes, I will work hard to continue the legacy of support, professional development, healthy relationships and seeking all resources to have a successful, joyful learning and working environment for Hamilton staff, families and community partners.
This next year is going to be amazing as we continue to provide academic experiences for our students that are rigorous, relevant, and help them build relationships while making real-world connections. As your principal, it is important to me that everyone who steps through our doors-teachers, students and parents are excited to be here! This attitude enables us to meet the challenges of academic excellence in a positive, fun, helpful, healthy, and nurturing environment. My door is always open and I welcome your input. Please feel free to call or email me to discuss any concerns, comments or questions you might have throughout the school year or even just to chat before we meet.
